State Park's 'Mineral Baths' Mixed With Tap
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- The Saratoga Spa State Park is in hot water over bubbly mineral baths.
It turns out that ordinary heated tap water is being mixed with the natural spring water at the historic spa in an upstate New York park. And it's been that way since the 1930s, according to the New York Post. Visitors pay $20 for the privilege of soaking in the bubbly water.
Raymond Watkin, a former Saratoga Springs mayor, said the state's committing fraud. A state parks spokeswoman said the operator of the baths, Xanterra Parks and Resorts, will now notify customers the water is a mix.
