Drunk toddler couldn't stand on his legs.

Bratislava - Police have found 167mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood in a 17-month-old toddler in the western Slovak city of Levice, said media reports on Wednesday.

The toddler's 23-year-old mother, who was under the influence of alcohol herself, had been sleeping next to the child when neighbours called police and social services.

According to reports, neighbours had been concerned for months that the mother and her partner were neglecting the child.

Witnesses said they had noticed alcohol in the toddler's breath on several occasions in the past.

The child had appeared malnourished and neglected and also showed signs of physical abuse, said the authorities.

It was also lacking abilities expected at its age.

According to reports, the child had not been able to stand on its own legs.
